I am passionate about supporting people to live happier, more fulfilled lives through Mindfulness and Meditation and its core concepts.
Mindfulness has empirical evidence to support its effectiveness at coping more effectively with depression, anxiety and stress.

Changes can be seen in the brain in as little as 8 weeks from people in engaging in Mindfulness Mediation programmes.

This study carried out by Harvard University confirms changes seen in the brain from people engaging in 8 week Mindfulness programmes: http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2012/11/meditations-positive-resid...

There are many benefits of Mindfulness Meditation including stress relief, improved concentration, better management of troublesome thoughts, increased energy levels, reduced insomnia and improved learning ability and memory.
By utilising MRI scans, changes can be seen in specific regions of the brain; reducing activity in the Amygdala, which is associated with the fight or flight and fear responses, and increasing activity in the Pre-frontal cortex which is related to empathy, compassion and being reflective. This has an effect on the Automatic Nervous System, mainly decreasing the activity in the Sympathetic Nervous System related to fight or flight, which can increase anxiousness and increasing activity in the Parasympathetic Nervous System which is related to calmness.

Mindfulness can also be effective for increasing telomere length (telomeres are bundles of DNA on the end of chromosomes that determine how quickly a cell will age, the shorter they are the faster we can age) in breast cancer survivors: http://www.sciencealert.com/world-first-evidence-suggests-that-meditatio...

I run an 8 week Mindfulness for Well-Being Programme several times throughout the year. It is the same course that has been approved by the NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) which is delivered in the NHS. The course was designed by Mark Williams of Oxford University to support people to overcome depression, stress and anxiety.

I also offer 1:1 Mindfulness and Meditation sessions as well as the 8 week programme and I am available to give workshops and presentations.
